Concerning cost, there a pretty afordable engine, parts are fairly reasonable, so are the majority of the wisconsin engines. wisconsin robins are just a mere reflection of what use to be WISCONSIN after they went to japan which ruined a perfectly good engine. But dont confuse the old reliable Wisconsin to todays wisconsin robin. like any mechanical thing, they do require maintenence and sometimes repair. however there not compleatly bullet proof. Wisconsins are well known for ALOT of hours. They HAVE to, to be under wisconsins specifications and name. They stand up to ALOT of hours with little to practicaly no ware.

calling him is best.įor question 3: Usually if you have a good wisconsin engine to start with, there a pretty tough engine in general. Question 2: a good parts sorce again, would be ebay, engine swap meets, or Bob at Bob's small engine repair. you atleast need it as a timing mechanism. But the magneto HAS to be there becouse it's turning in time with the engine. OR, you atleast need a magneto with a good set of points and condencer in it then run an external wire to an external battery coil, like for a Kohler, for instance. I suppose someone could transform the engine to a battery ignition but the way wisconsins hooked there mags up, you pretty much NEED a magneto to have the engine correctly in time.

Some needing attention like points ans condencer but atleast you'll have a mag. You can find them on ebay or at engine swap meets for 75 and below.

Well, to answer your first question, mags are fairly easy to find for wisconsin engines in general.
